Ubisoft has revealed the physical deluxe edition of its forthcoming turn-based RPG Child of Light, now pre-orderable in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. The news coincides with the fresh co-op trailer that dropped today.
Sony has announced PS4 sales have passed the 6 million unit mark less than four months after launch.
We heard before the console launched in Japan on February 22 that sales stood at 5.3 million, and this fresh figure includes the 370,000 sold in the country following its release. The PS4 is now available in 57 countries, and 13.7 million games have been sold so far, with Killzone: Shadow Fall responsible for 2.1 million of that figure.
Other statistics released include the fact that 100m "Shares" have been captured alongside 3.6 million gameplay broadcasts streamed via Twitch and Ustream. More than half of PS4 owners also subscribe to PS Plus.
In recent years, Sony has launched a so-called “Spring Fever” sale on PlayStation Network that give PlayStation Plus subscribers in particular steep discounts on lots of games and DLC. This year, of course, is absolutely no different. Spring Fever 2014 is about to start.
Here’s what you can expect. Keep in mind that this sale is for North American users only.
Sony has released a new European TV spot for the upcoming Infamous: Second Son, and also revealed what we can expect from the digital-only Legacy Edition.
Alongside the below trailer, Sony has explained that the Legacy Edition of the game will come with the Cole's Legacy DLC and some new jackets Delsin can wear. It can only be purchased digitally, though a standard digital edition will also be available.
Sony has announced the games coming to European PS Plus subscribers in March.
From March 5, top-down shoot 'em up Dead Nation: Apocalypse Edition will be arriving for PS4 subscribers. The Apocalypse Edition accidentally revealed earlier this week for PS4 comes with a full campaign mode that can be played either solo or co-op, along with the 'Road to Devastation' expansion that includes the Arcade and Endless modes.
If you’re a North American subscriber to PlayStation Plus, then March of 2014 is looking like a mighty fine month for you. PlayStation 4 players will get a free game – a classic, in fact! – while PS3 gamers will get three free games. PS Vita gets a free game, too, as does PSP.
For starters, it’s official! Dead Nation: Apocalypse Edition is coming to PlayStation 4. The game was accidentally leaked a couple of days ago, and is a port of developer Housemarque’s hit PS3-exclusive game, Dead Nation. Apocalypse Edition comes bundled with the Road of Devastation DLC that came to the PS3 version. There’s still no word on the PS Vita iteration of the game revealed at E3.
Infamous: Second Son may just be PlayStation 4’s most eagerly-anticipated exclusive, at least when it comes to titles set for release in 2014. That’s why it’s such good news that the game is officially done, or in industry jargon, has “gone gold.”
News comes by way of Brian Fleming, Sucker Punch’s Co-Founder and Producer. He Tweeted the short and sweet message.
Infamous: Second Son is set for release on PlayStation 4 on March 21st worldwide.
Sony PlayStation 4 sales are currently sitting at over 5.3 million, ahead of the console's launch in Japan.
The company announced the figure this morning ahead of the Japanese launch due to take place on February 22. Seeing as Sony had previously announced it wanted to sell 5 million PS4 consoles by the end of the financial year on March 31, it's currently significantly ahead of schedule.
The official PlayStation App has been updated for the first time since launching last year, and among the improvements introduced is the ability to find PlayStation 4 livestreams that can be watched right from your iOS or Android device.
The addition of the Live From PlayStation feature is the most substantial aspect of the update. By choosing it from the main menu, users can scroll through a list of streams currently being broadcast, search for specific streams, and use filters to find streams offering interactivity or being hosted on Ustream or Twitch.
Unfortunately, at least on iOS, choosing a stream opens it up in a browser, rather than the Twitch or Ustream apps themselves.
Tropico 5 is set to be the first entry in the series to appear on Sony consoles, when it releases on PS4 later this year.
Until now, the game had only been listed for PC, Mac and Xbox 360. Curiously, today's announcement didn't include confirmation of a next-gen Xbox version.
Multiplayer has also been confirmed for the upcoming game. Up to four players will be able to work co-operatively or competitively, though no details were disclosed other than that.
The timespan of the game has been extended too, thanks to the addition of Dynasties, which will allow you to pass power to your offspring and rule from colonial times all the way through to the modern day.
We still don't have a firm release date, but Tropico 5 is expected later this year.
