Variety reports that Amazon has made all 13-episodes of the first season of NBC's Hannibal available for free streaming for Prime Instant Video subscribers.
Though Hannibal's first season garnered critical praise and managed to grow an intimate fanbase through the show's entertaining official Tumblr page, the live-viewing ratings took a significant dip after the premiere and left many fans wondering if there would be a second season at all. Considering that Amazon is starting this offer exactly a month before season 2's premiere on February 28, it seems pretty clear that NBC is hoping to boost the show's ratings when it returns. Variety points out that Breaking Bad's final run saw a huge jump in ratings after the first half of season five went up on Netflix.
Due to a deal with NBCUniversal, Amazon Prime is the only video on demand service streaming episodes of Hannibal, though season one is available for purchase on DVD/Blu-Ray, Apple’s iTunes and Amazon Video.
